Music has influenced me throughout my life. I worked for the New Musical Express magazine as their resident photographer. I had the privilege of being in the company of musicians who would be in people's homes, workplaces, cars and nightclubs throughout their lives and beyond.
This photo of Run DMC in a toilet in Philadelphia typified their close bond and relationship even through the dark times. They were in each other's company day and night, performing and hanging out.
I lost my son, Travis, to suicide in 2018. He loved his music, and we had a common bond with all genres of music, including hip-hop.
I know he would have been moved to see this project that puts a spotlight on the importance of good company and charities like Suicide & Co, who are trying to break the stigma.
