Suicide Bereavement Support for Organisations

We offer organisations guidance, tools and processes to navigate losing an employee to suicide, and suicide bereavement within organisations.

Supporting someone bereaved by suicide in the workplace

If this area is relevant to you, we are sorry that one of your team members is going through a bereavement by suicide, but the fact that you’re here to help them is an incredible bridge to support that simply does not normally exist.

Someone experiencing a bereavement can experience a ripple effect across their personal and work situation and it can be felt throughout the team too. From managing their wellbeing to their workload, there are lots of things to consider. When you get it right the impact you make is amazing; people don't forget who shows up for them in times of need.

We have support plans, management guidelines, and templates informed by lived experience, to help you provide personalised holistic care for your bereaved employee.

  • When someone dies by suicide, it can be shocking and confusing and it can trigger some complex emotions. We have created this guide which will give you information on the range of emotions experienced by those bereaved by suicide and the legal proceedings which follow a suicide-related death.

  • This workbook is something to hand out to your bereaved employee once they have returned to work after their bereavement leave. Be proactive - Create cultural change

It is important to create an environment that encourages the conversation and reduces the societal stigma associated with suicide.

We’ve been delivering presentations to organisations since we started across a number of areas; raising awareness of our work and mission as a charity, inspiring audiences to take positive action around breaking down the stigma of suicide and death and providing people with training on how to navigate difficult situations.

In 2024 we have two presentations we’re offering, read about them below and please send an email to info@suicideandco.org to book!

  • Charity Spotlight

Suicide&Co is a national charity with the purpose to support those bereaved by suicide and open-up the conversation around suicide-related grief to prevent mental health deterioration after the trauma of losing a loved one to suicide. Our vision is to provide adults bereaved by suicide in England and Wales with timely and effective support, because everyone deserves to feel like they have permission to grieve.

In this session you will learn about our mission, the communities we serve, and the opportunities for collaboration that can benefit both your organisation and those in need. Together, we can create lasting change and build a stronger, more compassionate future. Discover how aligning with our charity can enhance your corporate social responsibility efforts and inspire positive outcomes for all.

This is often delivered free of charge, however donations are always welcome!

  • Thought leadership session: Creating a Supportive Workplace

Are workplaces truly equipped to support their teams in the aftermath of an adverse life event or traumatic experience? Without proper support, the risk of mental health deterioration is significant.

We need to improve how we respond and facilitate recovery after trauma. Society and organisations play a crucial role as we spend much of our time at work.

Fortunately, there are simple and effective tips and techniques that can enhance our interactions and support each other better, which you will learn about in this session. On-demand access to these resources is essential for fostering behavioural change, but a single, inspiring session can spark a cultural shift, aligning internal language with collective aspirations.

This presentation is delivered for a donation, dependent on business size, recording requirements etc.

Our CEO and Co-Founder, Amelia, is usually the person who delivers our presentation, as she is a passionate public speaker. Amelia's personal experience of losing her mother at 19 while studying at university has given her a profound understanding of the challenges faced by those affected by suicide.

Amelia has over a decade of corporate experience in marketing and leading new business pitch teams. Shortlisted for Media Week Rising Star in 2015, Amelia was highly effective at cutting through the noise and grabbing attention from global brands. She is able to open up the subject regarding suicide bereavement in a sensitive and impactful way, speaking from the heart and leaving a lasting powerful impression.
