To the man who took me under his wing when I needed a father the most,

So many questions of why.
why now?
why ever?
why didn't you read my message that morning?
why weren't we enough for you to keep fighting?
why didn't we see this coming?

All of our lives are forever changed and there have been so many firsts, anniversaries, birthdays and milestones since you left us. You were the light of our lives Wes.

You were the face of kindness and courage in the face of surmountable odds and I couldn't think of anyone to be a better father figure for me. You took me under your wing when I needed a father the most but little did I know that I played that daughter role for you when you needed it the most too.

I promise to always look after your beautiful boys and wife. She is the light of their lives and I can't think of anyone better to be their mother, but you have changed her forever.
She misses her soulmate.
Her best friend.
The father to her children.
Her husband.
The love of her life.

I wish you knew how much we loved you.
