Dear Simon,

Even though it has been nearly 10 years since your passing away, we would like to reassure you that you are still such an important part of our lives. A week does not pass when we don’t speak about you  - ‘how much you would love Mia our new dog’, “do you remember coming here with Simon”, “Why do we have all these toolsets Simon gave us, especially as we are hopeless at DIY”.

You were and still are our best friend. We miss you walking into the house uninvited with Luka. We miss your practical skills and your take on life. You were like a second dad to Leah & Cormac and your love and support to them has helped shape them personally & professionally. We miss your humour and being the life & soul at weddings & parties. 

During Covid, I know all your patients at the surgery will have missed your calming & approachable style, giving them the confidence & security to get through the crisis.

Judy is still at the centre of our friendship circle and every time we meet up, your name will at some point crop up as we share experiences or what would Simon think about this issue.

In closing, our love & friendship does not wain, but gets stronger by the year. We both look forward to seeing you again in the future, but you may have to wait for quite a few years
