In 2023, 6,069 people died by suicide in England and Wales (ONS) and for every person gone, there are said to be 135 people affected and 6 people directly bereaved. This means our target community is between 36,000 and 819,000 people each year, who are largely suffering in silence and need support rebuilding their life around their grief.

The need is clear and we feel proud of the work that we have achieved so far. We could not deliver our services without the ongoing support of our community, our staff, trustees, counsellors, ambassadors and volunteers who help us achieve our mission. In 2024 alone we have also been supported by over 130 individual fundraisers; you can check out their achievements here.

Demand is stronger than ever but luckily our service delivery model is ready for scale, empowered by technology and we are growing every day.

  • “My counsellor was really supportive and listened to me. I felt validated and relieved I could talk about the suicide which has been a tremendous relief. I knew I was getting stuck and Suicide&Co provided the therapeutic intervention which stabilised my previously, pervasive ‘stuck’ grief, and shone a light onto the ladder to help me climb out of my emotional isolation.”

  • “I feel heard and understood. It has been so helpful for me to discuss how I feel without the fear of upsetting anyone. Being able to talk things through has helped me take some control of my feelings and this has helped me manage my days better, especially when I am at work.”

  • “It has given me space to accept the bereavement process and I feel as if I've found myself, even though I had not realised I'd been lost.”

  • “It helped to realise that I’m not in this alone and I can talk without upsetting people, my counsellor changed and saved my life for the better, I was in such a dark place but she helped to realise what I’m feeling is ok and I’ll get through it, I’m stronger than I think I am.”

  • “ I found my therapist to be absolutely amazing and talking through how I was feeling and trying to make sense of things has been invaluable to me in such a dark time. Thank you so much for doing such a great job in providing support after suicide, when you face such a horrific journey.”

  • “My counsellor was fantastic. She gave me the tools to cope with my feelings and helped me understand what was happening to me. She literally changed my outlook on life and I will be forever grateful to her.”

We could not deliver our services without the generous ongoing support of our incredible fundraisers and donors.
