A podcast about life after suicide

Support After Suicide Partnership have created a new podcast about life after suicide, hosted by Amanda Duffy. Each episode features a different guest who talks about their own personal experience with suicide bereavement. Many of these guests have also set up foundations, charities, or other creative outlets to support those bereaved by suicide and to help prevent future suicides, in memory of their loved one and as a result of their loss.

The episodes also highlight different types of suicide bereavement such as the loss of a sibling, a child, a friend and a parent. The After Suicide Podcast discusses practical matters such as coroners and inquests, with a dedicated episode to these topics to help listeners prepare for these events. In Episode 2, Halani Foulsham discusses how her creativity helped her to cope after the loss of her mum to suicide. Episodes 3 and 5 discuss suicide in relation to young people and the student population.

The SASP After Suicide podcast was developed to help people feel less alone in their grief. We would recommend listening to this podcast as hearing stories of lived experience can often be comforting for the bereaved and lessen the feeling of isolation that so often come with suicide-related grief.
