A course for bereaved adults learning to do their own grief work

The Bereavement Journey is a safe space for bereaved adults to open up and to support attendees to do their own grief work. They believe that loss has to be processed for our physical and mental health and for our wellbeing. The Bereavement Journey thinks that unresolved grief can affect our relationships, attitudes and other aspects of our life. You are able to attend at any stage of your grief, if you have been bereaved recently or lost someone a while ago. They encourage people to explore previous losses that could be affecting their lives and want to help people process their feelings. The Bereavement Journey offers a 7 week course of films and discussions which helps to build a community. Topics such as anger and guilt, separation, suppressed grief, change and so on are covered in the sessions and they are supported by a Participant Manual and facilitated by volunteers. The course allows guests to feel less alone in their grief and to ‘share with others in a safe space.’

The Bereavement Journey is offered by churches and Christian organisations across the UK and worldwide, however, the course is open to anyone and is suitable for any faiths or no faith at all. The last session on Faith Questions from a Christian perspective is optional. Guests are able to attend sessions in their local areas and you can use this map to find out where they are held near you. If you can’t attend in person or it doesn’t run in your local area, you can join the national online course run by AtaLoss using this link here. The course costs £35 to attend in person and remotely.
