Our story

An Introduction to Suicide&Co

Bereavement in all forms can be traumatic, however suicide often brings a range of added emotions to navigate.

The team's passion for helping others deal with this specific type of grief comes from a variety of personal experience of losing a loved one to suicide. It all started with our co-founders, Amelia and Emma, who both lost a parent to suicide. With their entrepreneurial spirit and empathetic nature, this double act is determined to do things differently; providing the support needed whilst also opening up the conversation and addressing the stigma. The team has grown to 8 people, all contributing to achieving our mission.

The aspect of support that we're focusing on is one-on-one professional support through talking therapies, and we're currently developing our counselling offering. The need for this charity has never been more relevant and is what drives them forward to create and grow an organisation that will genuinely provide the support so many people require.

Our mission

To support bereaved individuals and open the conversation around suicide-related grief.

There is so much that we'd like to achieve as a charity and we hope there are some great things to come.

Through this website and our social media channels we will focus on signposting to great charities, useful links and existing resources, curating relevant books, quotes, and other content, and sharing lived experiences, our own commentary, charity plans and successes.

We strongly believe in the power of conversation and will use a variety of initiatives to spark conversations and encourage open dialogues around bereavement from suicide and mental health more generally. Finally, studies have shown the huge benefit of professional support to those bereaved by suicide and we intend to raise money in order to be able to provide counselling to those in need of this support.
