To my darling sis

There are things I'd like to say to you,
I would want you to know,
You are loved unconditionally,
And though I am sad,
That I had to let you go,
I know you tried so hard,
To be here for us all.

You told me of your anguish,
Of never finding peace,
Only in your sleep you said,
Without guarantee.
And when the darkness grew,
And shadowed your bright light,
It was the people who you cared about,
That kept you in the fight.

You didn't want to leave us,
Or mean to cause such pain,
Of that I'm sure,
You told me so,
You only wanted rest.

I hope that's what you've found my sis,
And finally I'll say,
There is no anger,
Or no blame.
No other burning flame,
Than the love I feel for you,
Now wrapped up in pain.

I'll find a way to survive for you,
Because I'm the lucky one,
Who, through all the suffering,
Is still here.
I'll carry on your name.
