Submission 131

My Bestie,

From the moment you said hi to me on that first day of school, I knew we were going to have something great. I wasn't wrong, either. We were stuck together like glue. Through school, university, studying abroad, jobs, moving homes, falling in and out of love; you and me were a constant.

We took on the world and all its hardships side by side, every day. We'd spend weekends drinking wine and planning our futures. We were going to tackle adulthood the same way we tackled childhood: with good books, pick n mix and laughter.

Remember your 25th birthday? We walked, climbed and played on giant swings like we were kids again. Our laughter ricocheted off those beautiful woodlands. It was such a happy day.

You were and always will be the light of so many peoples lives. I'm so sorry the weight of this world was too heavy for you to hold, and too scary for you to share. I had no idea I'd have to say goodbye so soon and learn what this world feels like without you in it. I hope I hugged you tight enough when I dropped you back home that last weekend. If I had a second chance, I wouldn't have let go. I hope you know how loved you will always be.

I miss you so so much.
